Background:

I was born in Jalisco, Mexico and moved to the United States when I was young. I am currently attending California State University, Long Beach. I chose to study physics because I love learning about everything and physics is the foundation to all natural sciences, so by understanding physics I get a good picture of all of the other sciences. I have had a number of research experiences both at Cal State and in the Research Experiences for Undergraduates program at Rutgers University. There I worked alongside PhD students and postdocs in the lab doing self-directed research. I truly enjoyed that experience and it has made me consider going to graduate school once I obtain my bachelor degree. At some point, I want to be a high school physics teacher because I want to inspire people to be physics majors and take away some of the negative stigma that people put on the subject.
