Cornell University

Background:

My name is Christian Zollner, and I will be a sophomore studying Engineering Physics at Cornell University (School of Applied and Engineering Physics, College of Engineering). I am from Las Cruces, New Mexico. My love for physics was inspired by my father, also a physicist, who taught me to love science from a young age. After graduating, I hope to one day earn a PhD. In addition to physics, I am interested in materials science, especially in semiconductors and applications in renewable energy technologies. In my free time I love to play sports like soccer and basketball, and play music. I can play several instruments including guitar, and used to play bass in a band. I am very grateful and excited for the opportunity to be an APS Minority Scholar.
