Background:

Hello, my name is Barry Barrios from Los Angeles. One academic subject I have a deep interest in is physics especially mechanics. What I like and find most interesting about mechanics is the analysis of forces in trusses and frames, and using the laws of moments.

I just can't wait to go to MIT and push myself forward to the things I like most; the science especially physics. I would like to participate in UROP at MIT. UROP is an undergraduate research program that enables a student to do scientific or mathematical research with the professors. I am planning to do one in string theory and one in sound waves or plasma fusion. In addition, I am planning to attend the Interphase program at MIT over this coming summer. The Interphase program is for minorities who are introduced to MIT?s classes and can receive credit for them.
