Background:

My name is Alan Wagner. I was born in Puerto Rico and have lived here my entire life. I have been interested in physics since I was a small child. I have always wanted to know how the universe works and why it works the way that it does. I have tried to answer these questions by taking the most advanced physics courses offered at my school and by reading physics books whenever I have the chance. I am looking forward to continuing my education at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, where I plan to double major in Physics and Aeronautical Engineering. My other interests include sports and nature. I am a tennis player, but also enjoy running, swimming, and kickboxing. I spend a lot of time exploring the natural beauty of Puerto Rico. This island has a wide variety of ecosystems, ranging from beaches to deserts to rainforests.
