Aaron Sharpe
Rice University

I was born and raised in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and am now a sophomore at Rice University in Houston, Texas. I am double-majoring in Physics and Math and am involved in physics research at Rice. I will also be participating in a summer REU research program at the University of Chicago. I am a Native American and a member of the Seminole Nation of Oklahoma. I have always loved math and science. Because I loved playing with Legos so much as a kid, I grew up thinking I would become an engineer. However, after taking physics in high school for two years and for one year at Rice, I realized that the science behind the engineering is what I really loved. Physics allows me to satisfy my desire to understand the fundamentals of how the world around me works.
