APS offers free, on-line access to its journals for institutions in Sub-Saharan Africa and Bangladesh. Not-for-profit institutions in eligible countries can register to gain access. This offer is made available through the International Network for the Availability of Scientific Publications’ (INASP) Programme for the Enhancement of Research Information phase 2 (PERii). PERii provides researchers in developing and transitional countries with access to international, scholarly literature from a wide range of disciplines.

I am a librarian, how do I register my institution for access?
Please go to the PERii Registration page on the INASP website. You will need to know the IP range of your institute for your users to gain automatically authenticated access and for you to gain usage data specific to your institute. Access is also available through a Username and Password for those without a permanently assigned IP range.

I am a user, how do I gain access?
If you are at an institution, please check whether your librarian/IT department has set access for the computer you are using. Access is controlled via IP addresses entered within the institutional administrative system. Please contact your librarian or check the Registration Database if you are in any doubt.

From the INASP website: "The International Network for the Availability of Scientific Publications (INASP) is a development charity that has been working to enhance worldwide access to information since 1992. Our vision is that all people are able to access and contribute information, ideas and knowledge necessary for sustainable and equitable development. We work in partnership with individuals and organizations (both international and in-country) to facilitate access to information, to build skills in using, managing and producing information, and to encourage networking and the sharing of knowledge and resources. To achieve our goals, we produce print and online resources, we design and assist training workshops, we negotiate for preferential online access to scholarly information, and we undertake research and provide information and advice on all information-for-development issues."
