Background:

Jinhui Chen received his B.S. degree from Dalian University of Technology, China in 2003, and his Ph.D. in Physics from Shanghai Institute of Applied Physics (SINAP), Chinese Academy of Science (CAS) in 2008. From July 2008, he worked in Division of Nuclear Physics at SINAP as an Assistant Physicist. Chen won the CAS Presidential Award in 2008 and the CAS Excellent Ph.D. Dissertation Award in 2009. During 2008-2009, he also held a Postdoctoral Research Associate position at Kent State University. He returned to the Division of Nuclear Physics at SINAP in October of 2009 and was promoted to Associate Physicist in October 2010. In 2012, Chen won the CAS Lu Jiaxi Young Talent Award. At SINAP, he continues to measure and study the properties of strange antimatter with improved data sets and uses hypernuclei as a tool to probe and understand the quark gluon plasma state and the phase diagram of nuclear matter. Chen is a member of the STAR collaboration at the Relativistic Heavy Ion Collider (RHIC) at Brookhaven and a leading author of 12 peer-reviewed publications in Science, Nature, Physical Review Letters, among others.
