Citation:

"Exotic Phases of Interacting Two-dimensional Carriers Using One-dimensional Density Modulation."

Background:

Following M. Mueed undergraduate studies at The University of Tokyo, where he majored in electrical engineering, Dr. Mueed enrolled in the graduate program of Princeton University in 2011. Under the supervision of Prof. Mansour Shayegan, he studied the low-temperature quantum transport of two-dimensional electron systems confined to GaAs and AlAs quantum wells. He developed a method of using one-dimensional potential modulation to probe the interacting two-dimensional electrons and received his Ph.D. for this work in 2016 from the department of electrical engineering. Dr. Mueed is currently working as a post-doctoral associate at MIT in Prof. Pablo Jarillo-Herrero`s group where he is investigating induced superconductivity in van der Waals hetero-structures.
