Lyndon R. Evans

"For a sustained career of technical innovation and leadership in the SPS proton-antiproton collider, culminating in the construction and commissioning of the LHC."

Background:

Lyndon Evans earned a B.Sc in 1966 and a Ph.D. in 1970, both from the University of Wales. Evans was a CERN Research Fellow from 1970-1971. He worked on the 300 GeV project form 1971 to 1976, and the Ppbar project from 1978 to 1984. He was Deputy Division Leader SPS division (1988-1989,) Division Leader SL (SPS-LEP) Division (1990-1993), Associate Director of Future Accelerators (1993-1994) and Large Hadron Collider Project Leader 1994- present.

His interests include beam dynamics and accelerator project management and commissioning. He has worked on construction and commissioning of the Large Hadron Collider.

Evans is a Fellow of the American Physical Society, a Fellow of the University of Wales, and a Commander of the British Empire.
