Prizes, Awards, Fellows, Medals & Lectureships
APS Prizes and Awards, more than forty in number, recognize outstanding achievements in research, education and public service. With few exceptions, they are open to all members of the scientific community in the US and abroad. The nomination and selection procedure, involving APS-appointed selection committees, guarantees their high standards and prestige.
Fellowships
Any active APS member is eligible for nomination and election to Fellowship. The criterion for election is exceptional contributions to the physics enterprise; e.g., outstanding physics research, important applications of physics, leadership in or service to physics, or significant contributions to physics educat ion. Fellowship is a distinct honor signifying recognition by one's professional peers.
