FPD Scholar Travel Awards

Gray arrow  How to Apply for a Travel Grant

FPD Scholar Travel Award ($1000*)

Students who meet the FPD Basic Travel Award requirements and submit additional documents will be eligible for the $1000* award. 

In addition to having submitted an abstract and registering for the meeting, students will also need the following Scholar Award Documents:

  • A statement of need, signed by your mentor, which states that you were not able to secure sufficient funds to attend the meeting from other sources (REU or departmental grants, etc.).
  • A statement of matching funds from your department, signed by the department chair, stating that the $500 APS award will be matched by the department (for a total award of $1000).
  • A short report, to be submitted after the Meeting, describing the research you presented, your goals after graduation, and your experiences and impressions of the meeting.

After completing the Scholar Travel Award application form, you will be emailed instructions for submitting additional materials and receiving your award.

* $1000 = $500 travel stipend from APS + Guaranteed match from your home institution
