March Meeting registration is free for undergraduate members of APS (including affiliate members with SPS membership). Registration will enable students to attend the entire meeting, not just the Future of Physics Days.

Welcome to the March Future of Physics Days, 2012!  Once again, APS is teaming up with SPS at the March 2012 Meeting in Boston, MA to host a number of special events just for undergraduates.

The Undergraduate Epitome is publication listing sessions which may be of special interest to undergraduates.  Browse through the Undergraduate Epitome before you come to the meeting, and see what interests you.  The March 2012 Undergraduate Epitome is available in a .pdf format, and also online.

Mentor/Student Welcome Reception

7:00 p.m. - 8:30 p.m.

Westin Boston Hotel, Otis Room
Undergraduate Students and their Mentors are invited to enjoy some wonderful food and learn about career opportunities for students of physics. Join forces in a special contest for the chance to win some great prizes! Refreshments will be served.

Graduate School Fair Reception
Tuesday, February 28
12:30 p.m. - 2:00 p.m.
Student Lounge/BCEC Exhibit Hall C

Join us for an opportunity to enjoy some light refreshments and to meet with representatives from several universities to learn more about their graduate research programs! Student Awards and Networking Reception
Tuesday, February 28
5:30 p.m. - 7:30 p.m.

BCEC Ballroom East
This event represents a unique opportunity for students (both graduate and undergraduate), graduate school recruiters, and employers participating in the 2012 APS March Job Expo to interact.   All students are invited to participate and compete in some fun games for an opportunity to win fun prizes.  Light refreshments and beverages will be served.

Awards

Winning presenters from SPS oral and poster sessions will be recognized and given special awards.

Networking Reception
Recruiters from graduate schools and Job Expo employers will participate in a networking activity with students.  Students will have the opportunity to learn more about career options--from pursuing further graduate study, to finding employment in industry.

Travel Supplement Grants

All of the available FPD Scholar and Basic awards have now been dispersed, and we are not accepting further applications at this time.  However, should additional funding become available, we will announce it close to the meeting registration deadline (January 27, 2012).  Continue to check back to this page for further information

Graduate School Fair 

This year we're bringing in dozens of graduate school recruiters to meet with students to answer questions about their programs.  Join us for a special Graduate School Fair reception on Tuesday, February 28 in the Student Lounge to enjoy refreshments and meet the recruiters!
