The 15th American Physical Society Conference on Shock Compression of Condensed Matter will be held on the Big Island of Hawai`i during the summer of 2007. The conference hotel is situated on the Kohala coast, 30 miles north of Kona. The scientific focus of the Conference will be on fundamental and applied research topics related to shock wave compression of condensed matter. This multidisciplinary field of research encompasses areas of physics, chemistry, materials science, mechanics, geophysics, and planetary science, and applied mathematics.
