Visa Deadlines

Red arrow   ATTENTION:  Neither APS nor DPP can intervene with U.S. Embassies or consulates abroad or with the State Department in Washington, D.C., on behalf of any participant.

Apply Early for Your Visa
DPP Annual Meeting participants should familiarize themselves with visa requirements well in advance of the Annual Meeting.  DPP encourages applying for a visa as early as possible.

Visa Wait Times

Some consulates may have backlogs in scheduling visa interviews so applicants should first contact their consulates to find out how long the wait is for an interview and to estimate how long it may take to have a non-immigrant visa processed.

Current Visa Wait Times
Look up your consulate's wait times on the U.S. Department of State's  list.

Visa Invitation Letter

If you need a personal letter of invitation to attend the DPP Annual Meeting, contact Saralyn Stewart (stewart@physics.utexas.edu). Your letter will be emailed to you. To avoid delay, please send current and correct information.

Don't delay!  It takes 7 to 10 days to generate the Meeting Invitation Letter. Request your letter early.
