At the moment, scientists can synthesize some novel high-temperature superconductors only in the form of tiny, irregular flakes. By micro-structuring these irregular flakes into a regular shape (purple) and attaching electric contacts (blue), scientists can probe the essential material parameters for potential applications even in these tiny particles.
