Bacteria Wave
The Death Galaxy shown in this video is composed of over 2,000 hexagonal patches on a silicon wafer that are designed to allow the evolution of bacteria in a two-dimensional micro-ecology. Waves of evolutionary development start in Goldilocks regions, where conditions are just right for bacterial evolution, and then propagate through to the whole ecology.
