Nanomagnetism: Manufacture, Physics, Devices, and Modeling

Pre-registration only — no on-site registration for tutorials

Sunday, March 9
1:30 p.m. - 5:30 p.m.
La Galerie 6
New Orleans Marriott Hotel
555 Canal Street

One of the current frontiers in condensed matter physics is nanomagnetism. Its position at the frontier is because of both fundamental physics questions and its broad range of applications. This tutorial is sequenced to enable the attendees to learn the state of the art in device manufacture, the physics of spin-transport and transfer, an overview of very novel sensor applications, and the modeling of the magnetic properties. It will be of interest to new researchers in nanomagnetism at any level, from senior scientists to beginning graduate students, current researchers in the field expanding their expertise, and others with a need or desire to learn about nanomagnetism.
