Who Should Attend?
All who are interested in research that uses high magnetic fields including faculty, postdoctoral fellows, graduate students and other scientists.
A recently released National Research Council report focuses on the current status and future direction of scientific research in the United States using high magnetic fields and the technology development associated with it. Bert Halperin, chair of the committee writing the report, will briefly discuss the report and its principle recommendations, followed by comments from Greg Boebinger, Director of the National High Magnetic Field Laboratory, and Mary Galvin, Division Director for the NSF's Division of Materials Research. After the presentation, the meeting will be open for comments and questions from the audience.
