Who Should Attend?
Faculty who are interested in learning more about effective mentoring practices, especially those with students who are underrepresented racial and ethnic minorities in physics.

This workshop will feature interactive discussions based on mentoring research and case studies. By the end of the workshop, participants will be able to (1) define self-efficacy and its four sources, (2) articulate their role in fostering mentees’ research self-efficacy, (3) identify signs of self-efficacy in relation to research related tasks, and (4) practice strategies for building mentees’ self-efficacy in research.

Dinner at a local restaurant will be organized for participants following the workshop (to be covered by attendees on their own).
