Energy Objectives
Transportation Objectives
Buildings Objectives
Thirty-five years ago the United States adopted national strategies, implemented policies and developed technologies that signifi cantly improved energy effi ciency. Science and technology have progressed considerably since then, but U.S. energy policy has not. It is time to revisit the issue.
The American Physical Society set up its Energy Efficiency Study Group to do just that for the transportation and buildings sectors of our economy.
Transportation and Buildings
For both Transportation and Building sectors, the report lists goals for the near term, medium term, and long term.
Whatever their ease or difficulty, whatever their time horizon, achieving these goals will require intelligent public policy and serious public commitment.
