Introduction
Professional Development Guide
About this Guide
The APS Committee on Careers and Professional Development is committed to providing APS members with tools and resources to aid their career decisions and professional enrichment.
Although many resources exist that provide general career advice on topics such as development of transferrable skills and the ins-and-outs of job seeking, they often are not specific to physicists, or even scientists. Furthermore the materials aimed specifically at physicists are scattered across various media.
The purpose of this Guide is to provide a single point of reference for the most useful career resources for physicists.
The APS Professional Development Guide is organized into "chapters" that represent steps that a scientist can take to improve his or her professional development at any career stage. Interested readers are welcome to submit additional resources that will be considered for inclusion in the guide. Please send your ideas and suggestions to APS Careers.
