Improving the Climate in Physics

Assisting physics institutions in implementing positive change for everyone, especially women and underrepresented groups

APS has a long-standing interest in improving the climate for women and other underrepresented groups in physics departments, national labs, and scientific collaborations. Through working with APS to conduct a site visit, you are proactively taking steps to improve your environment for everyone.

The site visit program is overseen by the Committee on the Status of Women in Physics and the Committee on Minorities in Physics.

Site visits help physics departments and consortia, as well as national and private labs, to take action that will improve their environment for everyone.

Explore best practices to create a positive environment for women and gender minorities in your department, lab, or consortium.
